Greenville police established a suspect in a fatal shooting but no charges were filed as of Sunday evening, the Police Department said.
Corbett Duane Underwood, 42, of Greenville, died from a gunshot wound early Sunday in a shooting at his residence, the Coroner's Office said. The manner of death was ruled homicide, Coroner Parks Evans said.
The Greenville Police Department responded to The Ivy Apartments shortly before 4:30 a.m. Sunday in response to a report of a gunshot victim, authorities said. Officers secured the residence and performed CPR on Underwood, said Officer Gilberto Franco, the Police Department's spokesman.
EMS arrived and pronounced Underwood dead at 4:41 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. Police aren't searching for anyone in connection with the investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
