Mack Trucks Partners With Petty’s Garage

Mack Trucks regularly touts the durability, reliability and power of its heavy-duty vehicles. So it would make sense that the iconic truck maker’s latest partnership is with a shop founded by a racing legend who would know a thing or two about performance.

Mack on Tuesday announced it has inked a partnership agreement with Petty’s Garage, the high-performance speed shop founded in 2008 by Richard Petty, who notched a record 200 victories during his NASCAR career and is known in racing circles as The King. The agreement names Mack the official transportation sponsor for the garage, based in Level Cross, N.C. — a little more than 20 miles from Mack’s headquarters in Greensboro.

“Mack is pleased to partner with Petty’s Garage and to be named its official transportation sponsor,” John Walsh, Mack’s vice president of global marketing and brand management, said in a news release. “Richard Petty is a NASCAR legend, so it is fitting that Mack, a legendary truck brand, would partner with the garage. Both are committed to delivering superior performance to customers along with unmatched customer service, so we are enthusiastic about this new partnership.”

Under the deal, Petty’s Garage received a 2018 Mack Pinnacle Axle Back model, equipped with an MP8-445C engine, to transport cars to public events through its Performance Tour. The tour brings Petty’s Garage to fans and auto enthusiasts at select events across the country. The garage specializes in high-performance upgrades, including superchargers, custom projects and restorations. The business, which says it can build anything a car enthusiast can dream up, is separate from Richard Petty Motorsports, a stock car racing team co-owned by Petty that competes in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
