Douglasville and Douglas County are joining area nonprofits in ushering in the Christmas season with a series of annual public events.
Some of them include:
PARADE, TREE LIGHTING
The city of Douglasville’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony are set for Friday, Dec. 1, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in downtown Douglasville.
This year’s parade theme is “Miracle on Main Street.” The event will feature a community parade featuring Santa Claus, the annual lighting of the tree immediately following the parade, free photos with Santa, live reindeer, a musical and dance performance, vendors, food trucks and children’s activities.
Organizers will award first, second, and third place prizes for parade participants after the parade. The staging area for the parade will be on Church Street in front of Ace Hardware. It will run west on Church Street and conclude at Club Drive.
Partners and sponsors include the city of Douglasville, GreyStone Power and others.
