If we ever won a BRIT Award – especially in the golden era of '00s pop – you'd probably have to prize it from our cold, dead hands.
But the same can't be said for S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole, who, after selling his Best Newcomer statuette for more than £66,000 (!) on eBay, is doing it all over again.
After pocketing a load of cash (and enjoying a new wave of internet fame), Paul is now auctioning off his Best British Single BRIT, which the band won for 'Don't Stop Movin'' in 2002.
And now Paul has explained the reason behind his eBay exploits, telling em data-redactor-tag="em"">>NME that it's all to do with an unfortunate on-stage accident he suffered last year.
"When I was doing The Rocky Horror Picture Show a year ago, I was injured in quite a bad way. There was an un-choreographed bit of dancing and someone fell on me," he said.
"I was out of the show for about two months. My back has gone – it hasn't been right since."
Revealing the lasting impact of his back injury, Paul went on to add: "Things just haven't gone well this year [in terms of finding work]."
So, why has the singer chosen to sell his reminder of a twice-in-a-lifetime achievement rather than follow the usual path of reality TV? Well, because no-one will have him, apparently.
Admitting that he's asked shows such as I'm a Celebrity "many times" if they'll allow him to take part, Paul claimed "they won't have me – I'm not famous enough, apparently".
"But when you look at some of the people they put in, it really is extended friends of famous people. Cousins of friends. I've been told this by many of these reality TV shows – they just don't want me," he revealed.
